Self Massage: Hips, Low Back and Pelvis

Join Dr. Kerry for a afternoon of self massage for the hips, low back and pelvis. Kerry is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with a specialization in Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, Hypermobility and Chronic Pain. She weaves together her knowledge of fascia, energetics, neural connections and the work of Jill Miller of Tune up Fitness to give you an embodied experience of movement and massage so you can be your own healer.

This workshop is a deep dive into getting to know your body, the inner connections of muscle, tendons and fascia, and how they relate to each other. You’ll explore where you hold areas of tension, stress and range of motion limitations. Along the way, you will learn how to use different sized pliable balls, rollers and targeted tools to explore your body and any potential blind spots or areas of tension.

We will start with a brief introduction to what self myofascial release is and why it is a helpful tool. Then we will perform use yoga asana s a check and recheck to see where your body is in the here and now. This will lead us right into a juicy dive into common areas of tension and different techniques to address these areas
